Like a photo from an era of your life, party flyers captured the essence of underground culture in 1990s Detroit. “Back in the day”…isn’t just an expression, it really was a time and place in and of its self. From warehouses to the legendary Motor Lounge, from Spastik to Fuck the SYST3M party flyers donated by you are archived here. This section of onlynDetroit.com is reserved for your nostalgic benefit. If you, like many of us have saved your flyers and have photos of events from the hey-days of Detroit Techno, please contact us for details on how to submit original photography and flyer scans. If you are a promoter and have other articles of random significances please contact us, we would love to hear from you. If you are a promoter or designer and you see a flyer you created, and have not been contacted by us we apologize. This is an honest attempt by us, to create Detroit’s first public forum and archive of party paraphernalia. If you have concerns, further info, or really great stories from those days we urge you to please help us help the community.

In the days before Internet proliferation and the World Wide Web, artist, producers, promoters and fans communicated with each other through the use of colorful and creative print techniques. One such creative instrument used by “Stud!oK7” promoters in 1995 were these highly sought-after DJ trading cards. Stud!oK7 and their subsidiary record labels X-MIX, DJ-KICKS, netWORKS and !K7 were on the cutting edge of electronic dance music for over a decade. Please put on your seatbelts as we zip back in time and visit some our favorite DJ’s before they were the legends they are today.
